Our communications director Vincent You had a chat with Kyeling Ong, a member of ACM!

1) How long have you been a member of ACM?
I haven’t been a member of ACM for that long, just since Winter Kickoff.

2) What is a typical day like for you?
I don’t really have a typical day, I kind of just go with the flow. I guess my day usually involves waking up as late as possible and making it to class barely on time. After class, I usually procrastinate on my school work by going to club events, helping other people with their homework, running, eating spicy ramen, going on late-night market runs with my suitemates, and/or talking to friends.

3) What do you enjoy about ACM?
I like ACM’s crackhead energy! I feel like other clubs are more serious and formal, but ACM balances its social and professional aspects while having fun with both. There are lots of nice and funny people that made me feel welcomed in the club.

4) What is the last book you read?
The last book I read that wasn’t for school was The Darkest Minds trilogy.

5) How do you define success?

I feel like success is when you’re happy with where you are in life because you can acknowledge that you’ve done your best and learned from your experiences.

6) What’s your major, and what do you like about it?
My major is computer science, and to be honest, I don’t know if I like it yet since I just started. I picked it because it was both challenging and broad, so I knew I could learn a lot from it and also apply it to many of the other fields that I’m interested in.

7) Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In five years, I see myself as someone who’s still trying to figure out life and someone who lives and learns from her mistakes.
